I met Carl about 5 years ago when studying Grade 3 Guitar. I had tried several teachers before but found Carl to be extremely committed and reliable and very easy to get along with. After a small amount of tuition with him, I was ready to take Grade 3 and passed this with Merit. After this, I became seriously ill but with Carl's encouragement and willingness to work around my illness and hospital admissions, we continued our lessons together. I progressed with my guitar playing and passed Grade 4 with Merit, Grade 5 with Distinction, Grade 6 with Pass, Grade 7 with Merit and Grade 8 with Distinction. This Distinction at Grade 8 has given me the opportunity to get into University to study Professional Musicianship when I leave school later this year. None of this would have been achieved without Carl's expert tuition and I would truly say that if you want the best in guitar tuition, Carl is your man !!"  Oliver Miles, Walton on the Hill, Stafford.  30/01/2015

"Like loads of other people I've played guitar for a number of years but decided to give my playing a major boost. I found Carl and embarked on regular lessons. The result is I can now improvise with confidence in any key minor or major. In short I've learnt to play properly.                              P. Barnett - Cannock , Staffordshire 04/05/2012

Ace guitarist Carl Smith played a fabulous rendition of that popular number "Stormy Monday" - he was just excellent throughout the gig .

"I had always wanted to learn to play the guitar, so 2 and a half years ago at the age of 42 I invested in a guitar and just as importantly - lessons!  Luckily I found Carl, a very knowledgeable and patient tutor with years of experience of playing with other musicians . Playing guitar is now a lifelong pursuit for me, with continuing encouragement and tuition from Carl I`m getting better all the time."    Many thanks Carl.

"Crazy Kitten Blues", an original blues from the band, with nice vocal from Andi Jones and Carl Smith shining on guitar, as he does on a tasteful cover of the timeless "I Need Your Love So Bad",       Grahame Rhodes  bluesinthenorthwest.com                                                                            Review of Rhythm Zoo 'Crazy Kitten Blues' CD 09/01/11
